The school community of Gooburrum State School operates by the following beliefs and understandings about behaviour and learning:

  • education is a life-long process

  • gender is not a determinant of capacity to learn

  • children with disabilities are encouraged to access all educational opportunities

  • children learn at different rates

  • students, parents and teachers are part of a team

  • the school is a focal point of the community

  • good manners and respect are encouraged

  • children learn by a variety of activities

  • our school community needs to provide appropriate social role models

  • an attractive environment enhances learning

  • children’s self-esteem should be developed

  • personal safety is encouraged.

Our school's Student Code of Conduct reinforces and supports these beliefs and understandings. gooburrum_state_school_student_code_of_conduct.pdf
