The Gooburrum State School community is supported by a strong and committed relationship between school staff and parents. We work together to support our common goal of helping each child reach their potential in terms of academic, physical and social abilities. We are a highly inclusive community, where the belief in every child being supported to engage and achieve is embedded.
Our school has great relationships with community entities. We are involved every year in the march and service for ANZAC day at Moore Park Beach. We participate annually in the Moore Park Beach Arts Festival, where our choir performs and students create artwork for the school art competition. Ours is a Reef Guardian Program school, as well as being invovled in the Bundaberg District Pick of the Crop Program, both of which provide education and activites for students aligned to environmental care and sustainability.
Our P & C hold many events across the year but one opens the door to the wider community, when the Christmas Ham Wheel takes place. We welcome people from the local Bundaberg district to come along and enjoy a BBQ, run by our friends from the Moore Park Lions Club and win a ham. raffle or prize during the evening. Frunds raised go towards improving resouces, opportunities and activites for our students.
Ours is a community steeped in history, a warm and welcoming one that is valued by all members.
